You are not alone. No matter what you believe, you are not alone. 

There were days this past summer, 2020, when I felt alone and didn't have a distinct direction. You know, the kind of direction you get from your phone when the voice guides you to your destination? I'm not good with directions, but the phone voice helps my find my destination. Seriously, who is behind "the voice" on my phone? It sounds like a female voice, but is it? It sounds computerized, but whose voice was used to give the computer "the voice?"

Does it matter whose "voice" it is? That depends what information I am pursuing. Let me give an example of where I'm going with this.

I retired from my job at a preschool after several years. I made that decision based on my health. I came to the decision with the urging of my physician, husband, and God. The first two who urged me are human voices, not computerized, real voices. God's voice is the one that truly urged me and I felt safe that I wasn't retiring for my own selfish reasons. I wanted to do what was right and true and it took me several years of searching in my heart and asking God for guidance regardless of what my physician and my husband believed was best for me.

The voice of God. Is it audible like a big boom or quiet like a whisper? I would like to know your thoughts on the voice of God.

  I woke up on this first day of 2021 and was thinking about my mother’s pie crust. It’s delicious! You Are Not Alone: Beauty in the China Hutch

  “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine” (Isaiah 43:1b.) “Some people could be given an entire field of roses, and only see the thorns in it. Others could be given a single weed and only see the wildflower in it. Perception is a key component to gratitude. And gratitude is a key component to joy” (Amy Weatherly.) I sit at my writing table and look at the beautiful red glass vase filled with fresh flowers my husband brought home for me a few days ago. The vase is swirled as a cone sea shell shaped with one side taller than the other. He purchased flowers and the vase two weeks before February 14 “so it will be ready for more fresh flowers on Valentine’s Day” he said, “besides, I like the vase.” It is just like him to do this and surprise me often.
